EDA denies loan for downtown business

The floor plan for the Elk River Arts Alliance will include a dance space, gallery space and a classroom space, among other things. A hallway will provide additional gallery space for the organization as well. Here is a peek into the turret area.

After the ribbon cutting Monday, May 14, there were opportunities to tour Granite Shores and the apartment units prepared to be rented. This one happens to be the top floor of the building in the turret, which got a lot of comments about the view. Other rooms overlook the Mississippi River.

Jim Soderberg, president of Apartment Specialists in Brooklyn Center, cut the ribbon for Granite Shores, located along the Mississippi River in Downtown Elk River.  The building was purchased by Soderberg's firm for $5.125 million and they they intend to fill the first floor with businesses and the second, third and fourth floor with renters.
