The Elk River YMCA’s first 5K run and walk held this past Saturday morning attracted 192 registrants and has been deemed a huge success.
“We had a ton of kids, including some really young ones,” said Ron Touchette of the YMCA.“Everything went off great with the event. It really embodied the spirit of the YMCA with the youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We hit it all. The 5K raised money for the YPartners campaign, so funds will be used to help children and families who may not be able to afford a YMCA membership or other YMCA to participate.
