Teenager reports ‘stun gun’ was used on him
Police responded to a report of a robbery at 9:07 p.m. Sept. 24. Elk River Police Capt. Bob Kluntz said an Elk River boy, 17, claimed to have been in a vehicle with some acquaintances at a gas station in the 18000 block of Zane Street, when someone used a “stun gun” on him and stole his cell phone. He reported that they then left in a vehicle.
Woman arrested for DWI
A Waupun, Wis., woman, 24, was arrested for DWI after an officer pulled her vehicle over after observing that it did not have a light on the rear license plate.
The officer had been stationary in the 21900 block of Highway 169 at 11:30 p.m. Sept. 24 when he observed the woman’s pickup truck exit the ERX Motor Park in Elk River, make a U-turn at 221st and go south on Highway 169.
The officer pulled over the vehicle in the 21300 block of Highway 169. A strong odor of alcohol came from the cab and the driver failed field sobriety tests. Additional tests were also done for blood alcohol concentration and the woman was later booked into the Sherburne County Jail in Elk River.
Man, 19, arrested for DWI in Elk River
An Elk River man, 19, was arrested for DWI after being stopped because there was a headlight out on his vehicle.
An officer pulled the man over in the lot of an apartment complex at Jackson Street and 191st Avenue at 12:19 a.m. Sept. 24.
He showed signs of impairment, and was ultimately arrested for DWI.
Purse stolen while watching a movie
Two people attending a movie in Elk River reported that their vehicle was broken into while they were in the theater in the 500 block of Freeport Avenue. The front passenger side window was broken and a purse was stolen. The theft was reported at 10:46 p.m. Sept. 23.
