The annual Party in the Park hosted by Keller Williams Realty was originally scheduled to happen on Aug. 9, but was postponed until Aug. 16 on account of rain. The Aug. 16 event was also postponed until Aug. 23.

Thankfully, people hung with it and filled Lake Orono Park with a car show, games and plenty of vendors. Keller Williams gave away free hot dogs and cake and raised money for Community Aid Elk River, Elk River’s food shelf. The car show was led by Cold Steel Cruisers based out of Anoka, with members in area communities.

A representative of the Cold Steel Cruisers and Keller Williams awarded Jeff Dahl, of Otsego, with Keller Williams Choice award for the car show. The car club also picked a winner and there were 10 people’s choice awards given out. Dahl’s son was thrilled to win.
Many businesses and community organizations were at the event sharing information and offering prizes for people who visited.
Nate Oknich walked his two children and two of their friends to Orono Park on Aug. 23 to come upon a Party in the Park. “I was just coming for a playground, but this is great,” he said, as the kids checked out “The General Lee,” which won Keller Williams Choice for best car in the car show. His children Joseline, 6, and Derick, 3, were there along with playmates Eli and Kenzie.
