Spike’s, Abra win Elk River beautification awards

Spike’s Feed, Seed and Pet Supply and Abra Auto Body and Glass are the July winners of Elk River’s beautification awards.
Spike’s was recognized for making substantial improvements to the exterior of its building at 906 Highway 10 in the last year, according to Colleen Eddy, economic development specialist with the city.
Abra Auto Body and Glass was awarded in recognition of consistently maintaining the Abra property at 11175 183rd Circle in an attractive and well-kept manner, Eddy said.
Jennifer Wagner, a member of the Elk River Economic Development Authority, presented the awards to Mike Persons from Spike’s and Danyell Wendland and Scot Johnson from Abra.
The city presents beautification awards in the following categories:
•Businesses that have made substantial improvements to the exterior of their buildings, landscape or both.
