The Elk River legion baseball team was given the No. 5 seed in their district and will play their first game of the tournament on Wednesday, July 19, at 10 a.m. against St. Michael – who they lost  to by a score of 10-4 on June 20.

However, the Elks remain confident that they can come away with a win, as that lopsided score was mostly due to errors. The team has also been resting their top-4 pitchers the last week to make sure they are ready to go for the playoffs.

“In high school they beat us and ended our year, and then this summer they beat us 10-4,” Elk River manager Tucker Morrell said of St. Michael. “They’re very beatable though. Both those games we made errors and mental mistakes that cost us.”

All games of the tournament will be played in Osseo at the Osseo Memorial Field.
