Charles David Thompson

Charles David Thompson, age 86 of Elk River, peacefully went into the arms of his Savior surrounded by family on June 27, 2017. He was currently a resident of Sterling Court Memory Care in Princeton, MN.
He was born on Feb. 18, 1931 to Carl and Margaret (Boots) Thompson in Elk River.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lorraine; children Debra (Charles) Oscarson of Big Lake, Robert (Sherilyn) of Santiago, Lori (Mark) Barnier, David (Cindy) and Mark (Mary) all of Elk River; 24 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Chuck was preceded in death by a son, Randall; his parents, one sister, Peg; and one brother, Roland.
Chuck ran several businesses in Elk River including the Bread of Life Christian Bookstore for 37 years. Chuck gave his life to his Lord Jesus Christ at the tender age of seven. He loved sharing the gospel. He had a deep love of family and the community.
Reviewal Friday, June 30th from 4-8 p.m. at Refuge Evangelical Free Church in Zimmerman, 25620 Fourth St. W. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 1st at 10 a.m. at the Refuge Evangelical Church. Interment at Meadowvale Cemetery following the service.
