5K Memorial honoring slain Elk River Police officer set for May 13

The Besser Sunshine Memorial 5K and silent auction will be held May 13 to honor Todd Besser, who worked for the Elk River Police Department for 16 years.

The race route will follow along Orono Parkway, turn right onto Joplin Street Northwest, then right onto Orono Road Northwest into Orono Park and along Orono Lake. The course will then turn right onto Mississippi Road Northwest, continue onto Joplin Street and turn into Orono Parkway to the public safety facility.
