The historical Oliver Kelley Farm in Elk River opens for the season Saturday, April 1 and welcomes visitors to a range of new offerings after a multimillion renovation.
A new visitor center has three times more space as the previous one and includes a learning kitchen, classrooms, indoor exhibits, a museum store and updated guest amenities.
In the new Farm Lab area, visitors can explore Minnesota’s agriculture today through modern cropland, animals, gardens and an outdoor exhibit trail. Then explore Oliver Kelley’s historic 1860s farmstead to compare how Minnesota’s agriculture has changed over 150 years.
The Kelley Farm will be open weekends in April and May and will hold a grand opening celebration. May 6 and 7.
