Eagle’s Nest Nature Store holiday shopping event: Located in Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge’s Oak Savanna Learning Center, the store will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, Dec. 3, 10 and 17, for holiday shopping. The store is located off County Road 9, 4 miles west of Highway 169 at 16797 289th Ave., Zimmerman.

Christmas Tree Ornament Festival: 10 a.m. to noon at the Sherburne History Center, 10775 27th Ave. SE, Becker. Event includes Christmas ornament crafts, snacks, a visit from Santa and a performance by the Land of Lakes Choirboys. Free.

•Greater Zimmerman Area Chamber of Commerce presents Celebrate the Season in Zimmerman. Participating businesses will offer specials as well as crafts and events at their locations. Downtown Elk River tree-lighting ceremony: 5 p.m. River’s Edge Commons Park. Mayor John Dietz will flip the switch and there will be caroling and cocoa. Unwrapped toys will be accepted for Gifts Anonymous and coats for Community Aid Elk River.

SOAR Regional Arts Christmas Around the World fifth annual fundraising concert featuring holiday classics and Christmas favorites from lands near and far: 7:30 p.m. St. Michael-Albertville Middle School West, 11343 50th St. NE, Albertville. More than 100 students comprise the SOAR singers. Includes performances by several local performers, a show choir ensemble, the SOAR board and more. Tickets: $12 for adults or $10 for seniors, students and children in advance at www.soararts.com or by calling 763-568-7627. At the door, $14 and $12.

Event also includes a silent auction and a raffle for an iPad mini, American Girl doll and $100 Lego set. Raffle tickets are $5.

SOAR Regional Arts is a nonprofit dedicated to providing quality performing arts opportunities to the communities of St. Michael, Otsego, Albertville and Rogers.

Visit the cookie station to decorate a cookie to bring home. Take your own photo with Santa and see his toy trains.

Santa in downtown Elk River: Santa and his reindeer will be at River’s Edge Commons Park from noon to 3 p.m. First 350 children receive a goodie bag from Santa. Downtown businesses will have special activities and promotions. Complimentary cookies, cider, coffee and hot cocoa. Help fill Santa’s sleigh by donating new, unwrapped toys to  Gifts Anonymous.

Photos with Santa Paws: Noon to 3 p.m. at Chuck & Don’s, 19230 Freeport St., Elk River. Hosted by Angel of Hope Animal Rescue. Four-legged family members are encouraged to attend. Suggested donation of $5 to the rescue.
