The first showing is at 7 p.m. on Thursday Nov. 3 followed by one at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4 and showings at 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Zabee Theater in Elk River High School. (Note: This is a correction from information in the Oct. 29 edition of the Star News)

Olivia Fromm, a senior, will be playing the role of Mrs. Banks, the mother of the bride. This will be her 12th production with ERHS Theatre.

The first time Olivia darkened the doorway of the Zabee Theatre was the fall of 2010. The production was White Christmas and she shared the stage with her sister, Cara, who was her inspiration for joining theatre.

Cara performed in productions at ERHS from 2006 through 2013 playing Beth in Little Women, Mary in It’s a Wonderful Life and Gertrude in Suessical to name a few.

Olivia has enjoyed many roles throughout the years. Her absolute favorite was the role of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. Other favorites have been Donna Lucia D’Alvadorez, the aunt, in Charley’s Aunt and The Landlady in 1984, in which she wrote and performed an original song. A bonus for a fall play that normally does not include singing!

Michelle Brooks, ERHS Theatre Director, identifies Olivia as a leader in the program and has come to count on her as her “go to” for an actor’s insight and perspective. “Olivia grounds me in that.” Michelle stated.

When asked what she likes about theatre, Olivia responded, “I love performing!” “My favorite experience to date has been singing ‘Over the Rainbow’ with Toto aka Molly in my arms.”

Olivia plans on attending Bethel University or the University of Minnesota Twin Cities after she graduates. Her focus will be pre-med in hopes of becoming a surgeon.
