Forum will address child safety issues

Families First Sherburne County will present a forum, Safe Kids Parent Awareness, on Monday, Oct. 17.
Doors open at 6 p.m. with informational sessions on child safety running from 6:30-8 p.m.
Community experts will address the following topics:
•Internet safety, cyberbullying and human trafficking: Victoria Powell, Sherburne County Attorney’s Office.
•Substance use: Dustin Chapman, Fairview Behavioral Services.
•Mental health: Jennifer Knapp, Bridging Hope Counseling.
The Hidden in Plain Sight display will also be available for adults to view. This display depicts a teenager’s bedroom with signs of drug use such as common paraphernalia, clothing and so forth.
The event will be at Elk River High School, 900 School St. Admission is free.
