Wright County still investigating item placed at Klein Bank

Wright County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Klein Bank in Otsego at 9:22 a.m. on Sept. 27 on a report of a suspicious package found outside the front door of the bank.
Due to nature of the package, along with a note that was attached to the package, responding deputies requested the assistance of the Minneapolis bomb squad, according to Wright County Sheriff Joe Hagerty.
The bomb squad determined the package did not contain any explosives.
Hagerty reported that his major crimes unit is continuing to investigate the matter to determine who placed the package outside the bank, and what their intent might have been.
Nearby Otsego Elementary School was put on a soft lockdown while the bomb squad did its work on the day of the call, meaning classes continued as normal except kids don’t go outside for recess or class.
