Cow Pie Festival gets needed approval

Starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, ERX Motor Park will open a music stage to host a benefit concert, a revival of the popular Cow Pie Festival, for the Three Rivers Community Foundation.
With revenues that come in from special events throughout the year, the foundation distributes grants and scholarships to students and nonprofit programs within School District 728.
Recent foundation grants have supported the 728 Cadets marching band program, a request to provide an autism service dog at Salk Middle School and the Rivers of Hope program that advocates for victims of domestic violence.
Guitarist and vocalist Josh Perisian will kick off the music for this year’s Cow Pie Festival, followed by the headlining Chris Hawkey Band.
The city permit requires that the event close by 11 p.m. at the Motor Park location, 21591 U.S. Highway 169.
