Baseball: Krick led Pioneers with .500 average, 3 homers

Sam Krick, coming off a super college season, stayed hot at the plate with the Elk River Pioneers town team this summer.

Krick hit an even .500 (25-for-50) with three homers, two triples and seven doubles. He scored a team-leading 18 runs and struck out only three times. His 10 RBI’s were second on the team.

Krick’s sophomore season at Anoka-Ramsey Community College landed him with a D-I team, South Dakota State.

The Pioneers had a 7-13 record.

Also getting on base a lot were Jordan Hollom with a .412 average, Brandon Meyer .359, Erik Nyquist .345 and Porter Morrell .339 with 13 RBI’s.

Dividing up the starting pitching duties were Tucker Morrell (3-2 record, 3.83 ERA), Josh Juntunen (1-3, 4.71) Jim Brown (0-2, 7.20), Jordan Hollom (0-3, 3.86), and Zach Petchell (3-0, 8.02).
