Kenneth Kimball Koehler

Kenneth Kimball Koehler was born on April 9, 1934 in Burns Township, rural Elk River, Minnesota.
His parents were the late Henry and Dora (Nickerson) Koehler. Kenneth attended the Dunn School District 29 in Burns Township and graduated from Elk River High School in 1952. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force from December 15, 1952 to October 11, 1958. After serving he was employed by Western Electric in California until he returned to Elk River and worked at Greenbergs Implement in Nowthen. He was then employed by Control Data in Minneapolis until 1973. Kenneth then moved to Pine Lake Township in New York Mills and farmed with his brother Earl until his retirement.
Kenneth passed away on July 19, 2014 at Sanford Health in Fargo, North Dakota at the age of 80.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his sisters, Irene Stelter, Grace Hovind and Mona Augustson; and his brothers, William, Earl, Carl, Donald and Harold.
He is survived by his sister, Marjorie Koehler of Perham; his brothers, Howard (Marlette) of St. Anthony, Boyd Koehler of Coon Rapids and Robert (Virginia) Koehler of Elk River along with many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Arrangements are with the Karvonen Funeral Home of New York Mills, Minnesota.
Graveside services will be conducted by his brother, Robert, on Saturday, August 16 starting at 2 p.m. at the Vernon Cemetery, Elk River followed by a reception at the American Legion Post 112, 525 Railroad Drive, Elk River.
