Baseball: Elk Legion done after 3-2 loss to Princeton

Elk River Legion’s season ended with a 3-2 loss to the Princeton Tigers on Thursday in Princeton.

The Elks took a 2-0 lead in the first inning when Riley Givens and Austin Heuer singled back-to-back and both scored on a single by Mylo Hommes.

However, the Elks were blanked the next eight innings by Tigers left-hander Dalton Mattson, who pitched distance.

Alex Babcock pitched well in the loss, going nine innings. Princeton took the lead in the seventh when Nick Zeroth tripled home a run and scored on a sac fly.

The Elks were 1-2 in the playoffs and 10-14 for the season.
