Francis B. Vetsch Frank age 87 of Elk River, MN, passed away on June 21, 2014 at the Elim Home in Princeton, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial on Friday June 27, 10 am at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Elk River, MN, with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Visitation from 5-7pm on Thurs. June 26 at Dares Funeral Home in Elk River. Internment at St. Andrews cemetery.
Francis was born on Oct 4, 1926 in Albertville MN. The son of Clemens and Henrietta Vetsch (Dehmer), he married Patricia Thies on June 10, 1950, and they celebrated 64 years together. Francis attended Dunwoody Institute in Mpls and worked as an industrial machine electrician technician, whose skills were sought after, giving him the opportunity to travel throughout the US. Frank eventually owned and operated his own business, Northland Power Tool, Inc. He was an army veteran (Heavy Mortar Crewman 71607/Paratrooper)
Francis enjoyed playing cards, deer hunting with friends, gardening and spending time outdoors, chess and World War II history. He enjoyed the arts and music, especially classical.
Preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 2 brothers in-law and 1 sister in-law and 1 great grandchild.
Survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia Vetsch; children: Mark (Mary Seman), Steven (Patty Herrig), Julie (Joel) Lidberg, Suzanne (Richard) Greb, Margery (Perry) Peterson, Thomas (Debbie) Vetsch, Kathryn (Steven) Bates; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and sisters: Sr. Thelma Vetsch SSND, Greta Anderson and Roselyn Zachman.
