Baseball: Pioneers beat Ramsey 11-1

The Elk River Pioneers have a 2-0 record after defeating the Ramsey Renegades 11-1 in five innings at home on Wednesday evening.

The Pioneers got 10 walks from Ramsey’s Jacob Mitchell and seven of those runs scored.

Aaron Pipenhagen was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs. Jim Brown was 2-for-3 with an RBI.  Porter Morrell was 1-for-2 with a two-run single. Sam Krick was 1-for-1 with three walks, two stolen bases, and four runs.

Zach Pechtel pitched four shutout innings for the Pioneers, giving up five hits and a walk, striking out one. Morrell pitched the final inning giving up an unearned run.

The Pioneers will play at St. Francis on Friday, 7:30 p.m.
