Anna Pipenhagen of Elk River is one of seven finalists for the Ms. Softball award presented by Minnesota Minute Men.
The senior pitcher and designated hitter posted a 12-4 record and 1.63 ERA this year with 145 strikeouts in 103 innings. She batted .448 with three homers, six doubles, a triple and 22 runs-batted-in. She had a 7-0 record before breaking her little finger. Her three homers included two extra-inning game-winners in the section tournament.
As a junior, Pipenhagen had a 19-3 record, including three wins at state as the Elks won the state championship. In her career, the 5-foot-8 right-hander was 43-18 with 468 strikeouts.
She has signed with St. Cloud State.
Mr. Baseball and Ms. Softball will be announced in a banquet June 15 at Jax Cafe in Minneapolis. The Minnesota Minnute Men host the event in cooperation with the Minnesota Twins.
