Rogers capped an undefeated Mississiippi 8 season with a 5-0 win over St. Francis on Saturday in St. Francis.

Katelyn Kemmetmueller threw the shutout, a three-hitter with two walks and nine strikeouts.

It was a scoreless duel between Kemmetmueller and the Saints’ Aimee Cottrell until Rogers scored all five runs in the fifth inning. Melea Bruns knocked in the first round, and Kaitlyn Lloyd and Maddie Mickolich each had a two-run single.

Lloyd was 3-for-4, Bruns 2-for-4, and Emily Hanford 2-for-4.

Rogers finished 12-0 in conference and takes a 17-1 overall mark into Section 5AAA. Seeded second behind Maple Grove, the Royals will host either Champlin Park or Totino-Grace on Tuesday.
