Elk River boys lacrosse played stout defense but came up short against the Buffalo Bison 5-3 at home Friday evening.
“Buffalo’s goalkeeper was outstanding,” said Elk coach Thomas Haugen. “He made some ridiculous saves.”
Haugen said his own goalie, Robert Finseth, and a “fantastic” game as well, and the defense anchored by fourth-year starter Travis Hansen kept the Elks in the game.
Marcus Olson scored two goals and Kyle Badger had the other for the Elks (0-3).
Buffalo is undefeated at 4-0.
The Elks will host Maple Grove on Monday.
