Prairie Center will get a security gate

The Otsego City Council has agreed to add a rolling security gate to the front desk at the Prairie Center. During reconstruction, it was thought that a gate would not be necessary, as a staff member would always be present when the facility is open.

Concerns have been raised that during commission and council meetings, staff members are present in the building, but are attending these meetings and not necessarily watching the front desk. This leaves the computer and other items at risk.

The gate and installation will cost $3,592. The Prairie Center remodeling budget currently has $38,611 remaining.
