Baseball: Sting lose to Maranatha 6-5 in 8th

The Spectrum baseball team is still looking for its first win on its new home field after losing to Maranatha Christian 6-5 in eight innings on Friday.
The Sting (2-3) lost their other home game, also close, 7-6 to St. Croix Prep.
Maranatha had back-to-back hits in the eighth with two outs to take the lead.
For Spectrum, Joey Chaffin was 2-for-3 plus a walk and drove home three runs. Christian Rieck was 2-for-3 (double, walk), Luke Nolden 2-for-3 (walk) and Ryan Pribnow 2-for-5 (RBI).
On the mound, John Brandon worked four innings (three runs, one earned), Nolden three innings (two runs, no hits, four walks) and Priblow one inning (one run) taking the loss.
The Sting will play at St. Croix Prep on Wednesday.
