April 1 Workshop

The Sherburne County Board of Commissioners met in a Workshop Session on April 1, 2014 at the Sherburne County Government Center in the City of Elk River with all Commissioners present. Call to order by the Chair was at 9:45 a.m.
Anderson/Schmiesing unanimous to approve the Workshop Agenda for April 1, 2014 as presented.
Francine Larson, Bill Bronder, Frances Gerde, Gina Hugo and Tiffany Determan, of the Soil and Water Conservation District, gave a presentation on upcoming activities and how they relate to the different land uses and cover types within the County.
Eugene Graff, Veterans Service Officer, was present to give a review of Veterans Administration changes and an update on the activities of the Sherburne County Veterans Service Office.
Joel Brott, Sheriff, and Kyle Breffle, Emergency Services Director, were present to discuss a new position to support the System Administrators Contract proposal between Sherburne County and the Central Minnesota Emergency Services Board. A copy of the presentation was given to the Board.
Mary Jo Cobb, Health and Human Services Director, was present to discuss permanent appointments of three temporary employees and one limited term employee. Mary Jo handed out information regarding the intake unit. The County Board is requesting that Mary Jo provide an RBA for each position addressing questions they had about the positions.
