Elk River High School’s top-ranked student, Grant Tesdahl, was awarded a Congressional Certificate of Merit by Congresswoman Michele Bachmann on April 12 at Monticello High School.
Tesdahl was one of only 13 students in the Sixth District to earn the award.
The Congressional Certificate of Merit is awarded each year to high school seniors that have demonstrated exemplary citizenship and academic excellence during their high school career. The students are nominated by school faculty or administrators and each school may only nominate one student.
Tesdahl has completed many college-level courses and AP classes.
He is the class president for Student Council and a member of the National Honor Society.
He participates in soccer and was the captain for the team this year. Tesdahl plans to pursue a major in the engineering field.
