Baseball: Sting outlast Brooklyn Center 13-11 in opener

Spectrum won its baseball opener 13-11 at Brooklyn Center on Saturday, overcoming seven errors with a 16-hit attack.

Joey Chaffin was 3-for-4 with three RBI, Thomas Ogren 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs, Luke Nolden 3-for-5 with two runs, and Ryan Pribnow 2-for-5 with two runs and two steals.

Tristen Rosby got the win, pitching five innings, allowing seven hits, three walks and six runs (two earned) and striking out six. Probnow pitched two innings, giving up three hits and two walks, striking out one. He gave up five unearned runs in the seventh when the Sting had four errors.

The Sting will host North Lakes Academy on Saturday, 11 a.m.
