Michelle Masica has been recognized for 30 years of service to the city of Elk River.
Police Chief Brad Rolfe said Masica was the city’s first community service officer. Her duties included parking enforcement, animal control and other work that ranged from painting the old creamery building that once housed city hall to sanding Sheetrock during a police department remodeling. She also once performed CPR on an electrocution victim, Rolfe said.
Masica was promoted to support services supervisor in 1999. She supervises all police department clerical and records staff.
“Michelle is responsible for much of what the Elk River Police Department is today, especially in the area of records management,” Rolfe said.
She was recognized at the April 7 Elk River City Council meeting.
