Tennis: Elks, ranked first in Class AA, beat Andover in conference opener

The top-ranked Elk River tennis team won its conference opener 7-0 over a young Andover lineup on Tuesday in Andover.

The Elks (2-0) were installed at No. 1 in the coaches association rankings over the weekend, Ronning announced.

The Elks had five “snowman” wins at Andover, including all four singles matches and No. 1 doubles.

In the first match of the season on the Elks’ courts, they will host Park Center on Thursday at 4 p.m.
