The first meeting of the Save the Water Tower Subcommittee will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at Elk River City Hall.
The group is a subcommittee of the Elk River Heritage Preservation Commission and will be looking at options for preserving the historic downtown water tower at Jackson Avenue and Fourth Street.
The meeting is open to the public. It will cover information about the water tower such as the history, current condition and needs as well as the purpose of the subcommittee including the process of forming a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, grants that are available, fund raising ideas and so forth.
The subcommittee is still forming and new members are welcome.
