Lloyd F. Werner, age 80 of Nowthen, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 31, 2014.
Lloyd was born May 18, 1933 to parents Henry and Gertrude Werner. He attended St. John’s Parochial school. He was in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He met his wife, Romell, in 1952 and they were married August 3, 1955 and enjoyed 58 plus years of marriage. He worked for Federal Cartridge in Anoka, MN for 33 plus years and retired from there in 1989. But his real love was anything and all things Allis Chalmers. He owned his own farm machinery business, Lloyd’s Sales and Service for 58 years. His wealth of knowledge of Allis Chalmers will be greatly missed. He was also a long time member and contributor of the Nowthen Historical Power Association / Nowthen Threshing Show. He was a life-long member of Nowthen, MN and of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and the Allis Chalmers community.
Preceded in death by his parents Henry and Gertrude and brother Ronald.
Survived by his loving wife of 58 years Romell; children, Jody Hicks (Ted McNamara), Janice (Todd) Rautio.Also survived by his sister Carol (Edward) Johnson and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He will by greatly missed by his family and his many Allis-Chalmers friends.
Funeral service 1 PM Monday April 7, 2014 at St. John’s Lutheran Church 9231 Viking Blvd NW, Nowthen.
Visitation 2-5 PM Sunday (Today) at Dare’s Funeral Home 805 Main St. NW Elk River, 763-441-1212 and 1 hour prior to service on Monday at Church.
Interment St. John’s Parish Cemetery.
Memorials preferred.
