Ryan adds bronze to two NCAA golds, is named Diver of Meet at nationals

Laura Ryan, University of Georgia diver from Elk River, capped off a stellar performance at the NCAA Championships with a third-place finish in the platform event Saturday evening.

A senior in her final collegiate meet, Ryan won gold medals in one-meter diving on Thursday and three-meter on Friday at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

In platform, she got the bronze behind Hayley Ishimatsu of Southern California and Emmy Ivory-Ganja of Texas. She moved from sixth to third with an excellent final dive.

Ryan was named Diver of the Meet, and helped Georgia cruise to its second consecutive team championship.

Ryan will continue to dive. She has qualified for a world meet in Shanghai slated for mid-July.
