Teenage pedestrians struck by truck are hospitalized

Two teenage boys have been hospitalized after they were struck this morning by a motor vehicle while they were walking on or near 3rd Street in Zimmerman.

The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a to the pickup truck versus pedestrian accident at 7:25 a.m. on March 11, according to Sheriff Joel Brott.police_lights(1)_296-1

A truck driven by an 88-year-old Elk River man who was westbound on 3rd Avenue South in the city of Zimmerman when it struck two juvenile boys, ages 14 and 15.

One juvenile was flown by helicopter to North Memorial Hospital. The second juvenile was taken by his parent(s) to North Memorial.

The accident is currently under investigation.
