Eddy is Elk River’s new economic development specialist

Colleen Eddy has been hired by the Elk River City Council as the city’s new economic development specialist.

Eddy has been the president of the Forest Lake Area Chamber of Commerce for about seven years. She starts her new job with the city on March 24.

Brian Beeman, Elk River’s economic development director, said they were looking for someone who had marketing and business recruitment and retention experience and he believes Eddy will do a great job.

There were 13 applicants for the position. Eddy replaces Clay Wilfahrt, who left to become  city administrator in Winsted.
