Elk River High School’s annual Swing Dance will be held Friday, March 7, at the commons. This is an event where you can not only dance to Big Band type music but also get lessons beforehand. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Lessons start at 6 p.m. and live jazz music starts at 7 p.m. There will be eight bands performing on two stages, including groups from Elk River (two), Rogers and Zimmerman high schools, and Salk, VandenBerge and Rogers middle schools. Special guests are the North Suburban Big Band. Tickets will cost $8 for adults, $5 for students with ID, or $20 for families. There will be a silent auction, concessions, and a large dance floor.
