Hockey: Royals’ Brown, Elks’ Berglove on Star-Tribune all-metro

Travis Brown of Rogers was named to the first team and Mac Berglove of Elk River was named to the third team of the Star-Tribune All-Metro boys hockey team on Tuesday.

Brown, a defenseman signed by Michigan Tech, was described as a “big, strong defenseman who moves well and plays tough … hard shot factored in six goals and 27 assists.”

Berglove, senior goaltender, compiled a .907 save percentage and 2.44 goals-against average. He was named third team behind juniors Vaughn Ahrens of Wayzata an Zach Driscoll of Eastview.

The All-Metro first team included forwards Brock Boeser of Burnsville, Miguel Fidler of Edina and Jake Wahlin of White Bear Lake; defensemen Brown and Luke Snuggerud of Eden Prairie; and Ahrens in goal. Boeser, a junior, was named player of the year.
