Wrestling: Elks’ Caldon finishes 2-2 at state meet

Elk River wrestler Garrett Caldon came home from the state tournament with two wins and no medal.

Caldon was nipped by Jake Bergeland of Centennial 5-4 in the 113-pound wrestle backs on Saturday.

Caldon (25-9) had opened with a 4-3 upset of Owatonna’s Tanner Cole (39-2) on Friday, then lost to Bemidji’s Brian Maas by pin in 4:57, and stayed alive with a 10-0 win over Rocori’s Adam Kunz.

The Elks’ other entrant, senior A.J. Hannan, had a won and two losses at 182 on Friday.
