Basketball: Cathedral ousts Spectrum boys 86-34

The Spectrum boys basketball team drew No. 1 seeded St. Cloud Cathedral for their section opener and were beaten 86-34 by the Crusaders on Friday evening in St. Cloud. Brindley Theisen scored 24 points and Brady Schmit 22 for the Crusaders (22-5), ranked No. 4 in Class 2A. Zach Knollenberg tallied 12 points, Ben Maki eight and Stefan Mayer seven for the Spring, who finished 10-13.
