The Elk River girls have their first three-game win streak of the year after defeating Coon Rapids 57-42 on Tuesday evening in Coon Rapids.
Abi Scheid led with 20 points and 16 rebounds. Shelby Gracik chipped in 12 points including 8-for-10 on free shots. Ava Kramer sank a couple of 3-pointers in the second half to help the Elks pull away.
The Elks are 7-12 in the NWSC and 11-13 over with successive wins over Osseo, Cambridge-Isanti and now Coon Rapids (1-17 NWSC, 4-20 overall).
The win streak will be sorely tested Friday as the Elks host No. 3 ranked Hopkins, state Class 4A champion the last three years, on Friday evening.
