The Rev. Brian Prior, bishop of the Episcopal Church and Diocese in Minnesota, will be at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 1326 Fourth St. NW, Elk River, on Thursday, Feb. 20, for a Celebration of Mutual Ministry. He will also install the lead pastor of Holy Trinity, the Rev. Dr. Robert C. Cavanna, and will preside in a unique worship service.
This worship service will celebrate the ministry of the people of the Holy Trinity faith community as well as the installation of Cavanna. The celebration will also include celebrating 158 years of ministry and service in Elk River and its surrounding communities, including the founding of Guardian Angels in 1862. During the service, the people will be reminded of their empowerment of ministry through their baptismal covenant. Representatives of the community will also present Cavanna with symbols related to his work as lead pastor, namely, a Bible, stole, keys, and bread and wine.
A reception follows the service in the parish hall. The general public and area clergy are invited to attend and participate in this communitywide celebration.
