Grant Tesdahl and Emily Meyer are Elk River High School’s nominees for the Triple A award given to seniors for achievement in athletics, arts and academics.
Tesdahl leads the senior class with a 4.13 grade-point-average, is a two-year starter at midfield in soccer, was in speech in 10th grade, and is regarded as a student leader. He was also homecoming king. He plans to major in industrial engineering at college to be determined.
Meyer plays tenor saxophone player in Black Elk Jazz Band, Wind Symphony. She has been invited to college honor bands eight times. In theatre, she’s been in pit orchestras for musicals, and has acted in two musicals and two one-act plays.
She was volleyball manager this year after playing the sport through 11th grade. She has a 3.8 GPA and plans to major in chemistry and minor in music at St. Benedict’s or Missouri University Science and Tech.
Triple A is a Minnesota State High School League program. Section and state winners are chosen from the nominees made by schools.
