Hockey: Rogers girls in scoreless tie with No. Wright County

The Rogers Royals skated to a 0-0 tie with North Wright County on Thursday evening at home in a game where both teams had plenty of chances.

NWC put 35 shots on goal, 12 of them in overtime, but all were stopped by Rogers’ goalie Michelle Klimstra. The Royals launched 27 shots, three in overtime and came up empty against Alex LaMere.

On power plays, Rogers was 0-for-5 and NWC 0-for-3.

Rogers is 7-3-2 in the Mississippi 8 and 12-9-3 overall. NWC is 6-2-2 and 11-9-3. The Royals lost to the Riverhawks 3-1 in December.

Buffalo is the league leader at 9-0.

Rogers will play at Duluth on Saturday in the regular-season finale.
