Sherburne SWCD receives water grants

The Sherburne Soil and Water Conservation District has been awarded grants to help protect and restore Minnesota’s streams, rivers, lakes and groundwater.

They include:

• $150,400 to reduce nitrogen leaching on cropland.

• $86,250 for a Briggs Lake Chain restoration partnership.

• $60,000 to implement a pasture and manure management program to reduce bacteria.

• $21,750 for well sealing.

The grants were awarded by the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources.
