Basketball: Elk girls lose to Armstrong 70-67

The Elk River girls lost to a team below them in the standings, Robbinsdale Armstrong, at home, on Wednesday evening.

The Falcons topped the Elks 70-67, led by Lyrik Williams with 33 points. Williams is a junior guard averaging 21 points. Senior guard Hana Sacic added 17 for the Falcons (2-8 conference, 5-10 overall).

Sophomore center Abi Scheid scored 27 points for the Elks, shooting 12-for-15. Senior guard Shelby Gracik hit 15 points (3-for-6 on three’s) and made six steals.  Sophomore guard Anna Rollag sank 12 points (2-for-4 on three’s).

The Elks (3-7 conference, 6-8 overall) will play at Anoka on Friday evening.
