Basketball: Elrod sinks 31 as Elks win at Wayzata 68-56

Clay Elrod tossed in 31 points and lifted the Elk River Elks to a 68-56 win over the Wayzata Trojans on Tuesday evening in Wayzata.

The 6-foot-6 senior forward shot 10-for-14, including 3-for-5 on three’s, and 8-for-9 free shots, while grabbing six rebounds.

He led a good shooting game by the Elks at 23-for-44 from the field, 7-for-15 on three’s, and 14-for-16 at the line.

Mitchell Weege added 11 points for the Elks (11-4).
Wayzata fell to 7-9.

The Elks will host Anoka on Friday evening.
