Theatre: Rogers’ one-act entry is wartime soldier’s tale, ‘Booby Trap’

A soldier sitting on a land mine is the theme of Rogers High School’s entry in the one-act play competition.
“Booby Trap,” directed by Gail Weber and Shane Noecker, will debut at the Mississippi 8 Conference festival today, Saturday, at Chisago Lakes, beginning 10 a.m.
Ryan Shaw has the lead of Pete, a soldier, who sits on a land mine, knowing that it won’t explode until he gets up. He reflects on his life while fellow soldiers try to help him. Other primary roles are played by Hannah Graffunder, Kate Stillman and Tyler Donnay. The cast has 16 members.
It will be presented to the public (free admission) Friday, Jan. 29, at Elk River’s Zabee Theatre. Their subsection will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, at Osseo.
