Sophomore Steffon Mosoke scored 10 of his 18 points in overtime to help the Rogers Royals defeat Chisago Lakes 86-80 at home Friday evening.
Cole Murray made the basket that sent the game to overtime and netted 23 points for the Royals.
Mosoke, a 6-foot-3 forward, started the overtime by hitting a 3-pointer, then made a steal on the other end, led a fast break and fed Murray for a layup and a five-point lead. He added another 3-pointer, then went 4-of-4 free shots in the final 20 seconds to wrap it up.
The Royals (1-1 conference, 5-7 overall) picked up their first conference win. The Wildcats are also 1-1 and 5-7.
Chisago Lakes led 72-68 before Rogers soph Allen Wilson hit a 3-pointer with a minute left. The Wildcats hit one of two free shots with 20 seconds left. The Royals knotted the score when the 6-foot-9 Anderson made a turnaround jump shot from the lane with nine seconds left.
Lance Lendl added 12 points and Wilson 11 for the Royals.
Jake McKezie, senior guard, led the Wildcats with 21 points. Mitch Berg scored 17 and Jake Lindquist and Dylan Wood 14 each.
Rogers will play at Buffalo on Tuesday.
