Hockey: Lehn’s late goals lift Royal girls over River Lakes 2-0

Madison Lehn broke up a scoreless duel with two power play goals late the third period and the Rogers Royals beat visiting River Lakes 2-0 on Thursday evening.

Michelle Klimstra notched 30 saves as she and the Royals (9-7-1) posted their second shutout of the season.

The game was 0-0 with 3:40 left but Lehn scored on power plays at 13:20, with Paetyn Levis and Gabrielle Billing assisting, and again at 15:13, with Levis and Kassie Scherling assisting.

Lehn, senior forward, leads the Royals with 14 goals.

Shana Clark made 25 saves for River Lakes (9-6), a fusion of eight schools based at Cold Spring Rocori.

Rogers will host Princeton-Big Lake-Becker on Friday evening.
