He married the love of his life, Joan Marie Irmiter on November 10th, 1962. They raised three children, making Buffalo, MN their home in 1978.

Tom loved his family more than anything, and enjoyed watching sports, fishing, and hunting with his son, Steve, and grandsons, spending time with his daughter, Carol, as well as attending concerts, sports, and school events with all of his grandchildren. Tom enjoyed his many friends, and will always be remembered for his quick wit and warm, engaging humor. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic parish and in his last years he developed a deeper walk with Christ, accepting His free gift of salvation.
