A spaghetti dinner and silent auction benefit for Jake Oviatt will be from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at Angenio’s Pizza and Bar, 13100 Fremont Ave., Zimmerman.
On Dec. 6, Jake pulled over to the side of the road on Highway 10 in Blaine to help a stranded motorist. As he was helping the motorist, a third vehicle pinned Jake into his vehicle and seriously injured his right leg. Jake has had four surgeries so far and will need multiple reconstructive surgeries in the near future. Jake will not be able to drive any type of vehicle for almost a year and his full-time job is driving semitrailers, so he will not have income.
Jake also has a 1-year old daughter. Money raised at the benefit will help Jake’s family.
Anyone wishing to contribute to the silent auction can call or text Deb at 612-390-1769. A fund has been set up at Woodlands Bank, P.O. Box 244, Zimmerman, MN 55398. To donate, send a check payable to “the benefit for Jake Oviatt.”
